Objective
To obtain a job in the equine industry caring for horses, training and schooling horses, or teaching riding lessons.
Summary
I currently work as a manager of a small equine farm that specializes in retraining rescued and abandoned horses and pairing them with owners to ride and care for them.
I have worked with horses since the age of 8 in various positions involving the care and well-being of equines of different types and breeds.
My skills involve careful management of feeding and supplementing for specific needs, correcting behavioral problems and vices, breaking horses to saddle and training from basic levels to more advance riding, and I have a gentle hand and a patient manner with horses. I also have the ability to work with people in a one-on-one setting or in a group, including children and the mentally or physically disabled.
I have worked with race horses, show animals, and lesson ponies, both large and small breeds, as well as managed my own personal horses for over 10 years. I was a member of both 4-H and Pony Club, and had the experience of competing in several competitions and rallies. For the past 4 years, I have been the owner and manager of my own business in which I teach riding lessons to children and adults.
I am a patient and professional teacher with a soft hand and firm confidence. I believe in a strong work ethic and teamwork. I am willing to get the job done and I take pride in doing it well. I am as passionate about the work that I do as I am about the animals I care for.
